Ok so I know I should be doing this far more regularly, because if I don’t you all think that I’m sat on my little bottom doing nothing, but nothing could be further from the truth. In these exciting DIY times everything is wonderful because you can have full creative control but it’s amazing how many pies there are to keep one’s fingers in.

There’s apple pie, this is the gig pie, which involves, finding cool venues, finding the lovely peeps who book the bands there, bombarding them with pleading phone calls, offering sexual favours (this usually works) and then once the gig is in the bag, organising my band, rehearsing them, dressing them, feeding them etc, promoting the gig, this means following the same pattern as for getting the gig only applying it to mags, fanzines, online gig pages etc oh and remembering to put it on here, the website and the fifty odd other rdinghood profiles out there, once at the gig there’s the sound check, getting myself ready, singing and performing a blinder, collecting email addresses, selling CDs and merchandise, going home (trying not to crash on the M4 late at night), inputting all the lovely fan’s details and contacting them…..and that’s just apple pie!

There’s also peach pie, rhubarb crumble, which I know isn’t strictly pie but someone once affectionately described me as rhubarb crumble (that’ll teach me to ask a date “if I were a dessert which one would I be?”!), chocolate tart (this is what I wish the date had said!), rabbit pie (this is obviously unthinkable and horrible - this is the finances pie)…anyway the list is endless but if anybody is interested in me posting the complete list then please feel free to ask.

Lastly there is cherry pie, yum scrum! This is the blog pie which I intent to be dining on far more regularly from now on. I pledge to have at least one slice of cherry pie a week and if I don’t I want you all to scold me severely. We’re playing a few acoustic numbers at Glo on Churchill Way, Cardiff tonight, would be lovely to see you there.
